ABOSOLUTE DISASTER. Could not get through on the phones. Tried to call many many times. Only reason Leon won was due to him singing first and having a good sob story. Hope his single flops... Simon was trying to engineer him out of the running by slating him in his first song but it did not work.

Ha ha! Rhydler will still be more famous than Leon. Leon's a five minute thing, but Rhydian is for life, not just for Christmas.
Are you going to continue filling us in on Rhydian's events ... etc, Mr Blister?

Am I going to continue doing this?
A good question.
I guess I will continue for a week or so. The initial intention of the blog was: To support Rhydian, to produce a satirical, sarcastic blog about the X factor and as a writing exercise.
You could almost see it coming. He managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. As many people are saying (but it doesn't sound good) NOT winning is possibly a good option if you want a long career.
In the end, with or without a TV show, talent will rise to the surface and stay there.
Whatever, he has given us some moments to treasure. If he stopped now, I would still have Get the Party Started, or his comments about enjoying working with the male dancers for Go West, or his comments at boot camp about Sharon really warming to him whilst inside the room she was venomous about him or....loads of great moments.
Presence, charm, singing ability, glamour, humour, emotion, star quality...I'm sure we will be seeing more of him

What A4refillpad says appears to be the word on the street

There will be a lot of votes after the winners singles are performed.

Leons fans had more time to vote and clock the phone problem. Rhydians had less time.

I have copied these comments from myspace.
There are lots of these.

Passing on Chris Sproston message.
Hi Guys, As I've previously said based on the number of people who've said
they have tried to vote for Ryhd and got an engaged tone,
I've already started the process of lodging an official complaint with ITV.
However I need people to e-mail me @ chris.sproston@enablize.com
to get some feedback to pass on?

ALSO ANOTHER LADY PUT UP THIS MESSAGE:
Contact The News of the World on
newsdesk@notw.co.uk
if you think the voting was a fix.

PS Thanks for this website.

Digitalspy forum member "The Rhydler"´s excellent summary:

The real story

Blatant fix

To allow a mumbling, out of tune, boring, bland, dull, souless, passionless, unattractive, untalented, stupifyingly grotesquely unbeleivably bad peformer to win the show speaks volumes about the x-factor show and the proportion of people that watch it.

You can all go to bed thinking yay, our dour miserable git won the x-factor. But what has really happened is that Cowell has robbed himself of the credibility this show needs, with Strictly trouncing it in the rating, to actually push for a Leon win is suicide!! Everything about this final was on his side.

1) Allowing Kylie to sing with Leon, knowing that her star quality would promote her way below average singing partner. She was introduced about 10 seconds in to save his shit-arse warbling. The others sung at least half the song. She also made sure her performance was the last of the celebrities even though Leon had gone second in the other rounds.
I suspect it was also her idea to banish judges comments after the celeb performances because woe betide she is attached to shit like that. Utterly shameless

2) They decided to show, in their infinite wisdom, a set of clips at the start of the competition depicting Rhydian as a pompous prat and all of Sharon's negative opinions of him...this is while the phone lines are still open Of course Leon gets a humble, moving peice about he was some sad **** of a shoe salesman - with a dream. **** OFF! They also never showed clips of him murdering Can't Buy Me Love and countless others, and the legions of negative comments the judges threw at him

3) Cowell made a comment after Rhydian's final performance which immediately told me he was 'arranging things' for Leon. The way he said 'if this is the last we see of you...what a way to go out...'!!!???!?!!?!? Where the **** did that come from, that is not something you say to someone who is in a phone poll with a 1% difference (Which was bollocks, they were just asking us to vote even more)

4) Rhydian and SD sung a song they'd sung before with the celebrities, Leon got a song he'd never sung before

5) They closed the phone-lines minutes after Rhyd's final performance, Leon had ages (They should have brought the losers to perform after this...but no)

6)the single they were asked to sing was blatantly not in his comfort zone at all, it was a obliteratingly boring piece of shit ballad. An absolute stitch up in any medium. Even with this unfair crap, Rhydian still delivers a faultess performance, in fact he delivered four...but even he looked 'informed' of his fate come the end of the show, and didn't look majorly shocked when the decision was announed and he is now free to act in West end shows and doesn't have to be in the contract.

This is facts people

Rhydian was too good for this show anyway, should have known it would turn out like this

The post of Digitalspy forum member "Sol Bollox":

In our house it was a win/win situation.

House full of Scots Rangers fans, therefore if Leon wins we would be glad for him.

But everyone of us thought Rhydian was the better singer, and with him giving money to an autism charity (close to our heart), then he would be a worthy winner.

For those reasons, none of us voted, or put a bet on.

Then Simon had his 'freudian slip', and went on about it being Rhydian's LAST performance.

Everyone of us thought that he had been tipped off of the result and Leon had won.

I jumped onto Betfair and got 4/1 Leon, just before others got the same idea and the price fell.

Cheers Simon, I'll send you a couple of quid for a pint

Lessons learned for Rhydian...

Never let showbiz demons (your masters) find out that you are:

- normal
- straight!
- christian!!!!!
- virgin

If you are not ready to show the el diablo sign in the middle of your performance (like Leona did last year) don´t even bother signing up.

This thread made chuckle.

I understand people are upset, Rhydian has an immense talent and he'll no doubt have a successful career.

He was however, in the wrong competition. He did not have the X Factor, he had something very different to that, but no less admirable, and that is why the vote didn't go his way in the end.

The bookies had no idea that the 'best' person wouldn't win. But this was a pop contest - Rhydian is an excellent tenor, this is a different thing.

I did vote for Leon, and had the exact same trouble getting through on the phonelines. There was no anti-Rhydian conspiracy, this reeks a bit of sore loser-ism, a line which I'm sure Rhydian wouldn't want anyone to take!

The proof of the pudding that Rhydian was not right for this competition came when he performed the single he would be releasing. It was without a shadow of a doubt his weakest performance of the year- which is not meant as a 'dis' as they were all of a consistently high standard till then - but this was because he was finally forced to conform to the idea of the competition and sing in a pop style. He was out of his comfort zone and no longer singing in his typically operatic way.

I find it a shame that people are so het up over this. You all add on that 'Rhydian didn't need this anyway' well start acting like you believe it! You'll see him succeed in the end :)

Oh Beautiful, talented Rhydian, ... he may not have won the X Factor show... but he certainly won our hearts! He is head and shoulders above the rest....in a league of his own and even though I feel very angry and disgusted with the way the voting went.... I suppose there is a reason for the way it all turned out....All is in divine and perfect order! Rhydian will no doubt rise above this and prove that he is indeed World Class. I am so grateful to him for the wonderful hours of entertainment. He touched us with his amazing voice, looks, personality, spirit and presence! His career will go from strength to strength and I will be in the cue to buy his Cds and concert tickets. Thank you Rhydian... you are simply the best!
