I'm too upset to talk a lot now. After what happened last night, i have sworn that i would NEVER vote or get so emotionally involved with these shows again. Same thing happened two years ago when i spent half my earnings voting for Andy and Shane emerged the winner.
I voted for Rhydian with my three mobile phones and my BT landline numerous times. I can't believe what happened.

Yes, Leon has progressed through the show, but the truth is that Rhydian was the true winner. Like Louis keeps saying, it is a talent competition. It is not supposed to be a "pity me" competition like it has now turned out to be! People think that because Rhydian is confident, he has no feelings. The poor boy broke down and cried later on the xtra factor result show and i couldn't help crying with him.

Leon had his touching stories and even Same Difference had their bullying stories. They all used these as gimmicks to elicit public votes. I'm sure Rhydian also has some sad stuff that has happened to him, but he never came up with any gimmicks or sob stories. He just presented himself the way he is, a true talent.

Leon was just lucky because Scottish people are very patriotic and each person must have voted for him about fifteen times each or whatever. Afterall, Michelle Mcmanus can't sing but still won Pop Idol because the whole of Scotland voted for her.

My darling Rhydian, you are the true winner in my eyes and that of many other people that recognise true talent. Please wipe your tears. You are a world class star and would be far more successful than the winner. Look at Paul Potts today. Don't even fret about it. I have no doubt in my mind that you'd be as popular as the late Luciano Pavorotti, if not even more popular.

I wish you all the luck in the world. Way to go dude!!!

I don't normally watch X factor and have watched none of this series, however, my daughter was round and wanted to watch it. I was rather impressed with Rhydian, less so with Leon (despite the fact that I am a patriotic Scot) and as for the couple, big difference?? or something. Blimey!! How did they get to the final.

Anyway, my daughter tried to vote several times for Rhydian and was unable to register a vote. Perhaps the 'powers that be' thought that Leon, being younger would be easier to manipulate than Rhydian and so allowed Leon to win. It could happen, its easy to rig a phone comp, who among the viewers will ever have access to the phone stats.

Just my four pennarth worth. Actually, its probably a blessing that Rhydian didn't win. He can go and forge a career of his own without the stigma of being an X factor winner.

This is ridiculous.

Citizens advice can't do anything because your right to vote in X Factor is not encoded in your civic rights. Listen to yourselves!

Citizens advice is a service for people facing things like eviction, over-taxing and ahem : REAL LIFE PROBLEMS.

People voting for Leon had the exact same problems registering their votes. There was no conspiracy and Rhydian will have a successful career with or without the record deal.

Jeeeez are you people actually adults?

Mays; This was so "in your face". Are you blind or deaf or delusional? Don´t you have any sense of justice at all? Is it OK then to rob you of your rights? If your answer is yes then you would make a perfect slave.

I think the stitch up was giving Leon the chance to sing with Kylie and letting him go before Rhydian with his sob story on the final song.

Also deciding the show was about pitching country against country. It was always going to favour scotland who vote like mad when its anything to do with their country

In addition to the above, write to Ofcom. According to recent Google news (17 December 2007), they're investigating 80 complaints of voting irregularities. From the numerous forums and websites on the subject, there are certainly 1000s who could not cast their vote. Write...write...to Ofcom. And let's get our voices heard!
