Hairy Sea Fungus named after Rhydian, reports magazine Ocean. 'The stone, exhibited at the 3rd China (International) 
Treasure Stone Exhibition, is around 30 cm long and has 15cm long white hair. Staff of the exhibition say the hair must be the remains of a kind of fungus, which grows on the surface of the stone and makes it look like a hairy head. Experts at the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences say the thick, white hairs are actually sea plants of the genus Lyopodoea that up till now have not been categorised. It was a British worker at the academy that came up with the name for the sea fungus. Brian Jones, a keen X Factor fan said, "We believe it is from the Lyopodea family and when you see it from a certain angle it looks just like Rhydian (first Welsh winner of the X factor) so we have named it Lyopodea Rhydius"'
